To extend the lead, gently and repeatedly twist the cap clockwise.
To retract the lead, turn the cap clockwise and hold it while pushing the lead gently back in with your finger.

Fitting new leads
1 Remove the cap by pulling it.
2 Unscrew the mechanism anti-clockwise to remove it from the body.
3 Pull out the plug from the lead refill chamber.
4 Insert no more than 5 leads at a time.
5 Replace the plug and re-assemble the pencil in the reverse sequence.
